Wednesday 18th January Futures Day

This is a dynamic Day for our students.  Each year group will consider an aspect of their future:
Year 7 – Looking forward to new challenges, new friendships and year 7 camp.
Year 8 – The Real World – careers activities focus
Year 9 – Options Choices
Year 10 – Trip to UCLAN – Raising aspirations post 16, exploring new courses and places
Year 11 – Bespoke day organized to suit student future decision making
Sixth Form – University and Apprenticeship workshops

Mon 23rd Jan  at 6pm Health Academy Launch

Year 11 and Year 10 students and parents / guardians are invited to attend the launch of our exciting new St. Mary’s Sixth Form Health Academy course on Monday 23rd January. There will be presentations from the Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and staff from different healthcare professions will be on hand for discussions

This is an innovate development within our sixth form and a course to be taken alongside three choices of A level subjects. Our entry requirement is the same as that for our sixth form – A minimum of 5 GCSE passes at C or above, including grade 4 in English and in Maths.

Please note that students from all local High Schools are welcome to attend

Thurs Feb 2nd  - Year 10 /12 parents evening

Parents are encouraged to attend the following subject consultation evenings for students in Year 10, and in our sixth form:

Year 10 and 12 Parents Evening runs from 4.00 – 7.30pm on Thursday February 2nd  .  The last appointment slot is at 7.00pm. 

Letters will be sent home via students. Students are expected to ask staff for appointments, which are of approximately 5 minutes duration.  Parents are welcome to contact subject teachers with any queries in advance of the evening that are likely to require longer discussion.
