The English Department would like to take this opportunity to thank Miss Preston and Mr Baugh for their dedication and enthusiasm over the years they have worked with us here at St Mary’s.
Miss Preston started at St Mary’s as an NQT in 2012 and both students and staff alike immediately recognised what a wonderful teacher she was. She has inspired students across all Key Stages and her love of Literature has been passed on to her students through everyday teaching, her work with the Royal Shakespeare Company and her many reading initiatives. We wish her the best of luck as she embarks on her new journey at a school closer to her home and family.
Mr Baugh first joined us at St Mary’s as a PGCE student in 2014; however, he was no stranger to the school as it was at St Mary’s that he spent 7 years as a student before going on to study at Oxford University. Unable to stay away, he joined our teaching staff and has inspired his colleagues and students with his vast knowledge and vocabulary ever since! Mr Baugh has thoroughly enjoyed teaching all age groups, and also stepped outside of English to teach A-Level Politics. We wish him every success as he moves on to focus on his A-Level teaching at a 6th Form College.
