Combined Science GCSE is a double award qualification and equivalent to two GCSE’s. Combined Science will develop student’s scientific knowledge and conceptual understanding of science. Students will study all three sciences and develop an understanding of the nature, processes and methods of science, developing and learning to apply observational, practical, modelling, enquiry and problem-solving skills, both in the laboratory, in the field and in other learning environments. Students will study a number of topics including cell biology, atomic structure and forces.
The problem solving and logical thinking skills that GCSE Science develops are highly valued in many fields. Good qualifications in science are valuable for all employment options, Sixth Form entry requirements and essential for A Level Science courses. A high grade in GCSE Science will provide access to careers in engineering, healthcare, forensics and laboratory based research work.
