Spanish is the third most spoken language in the world. It is the business language across Central and South America and is the USA’s second language. It is easy and fun to speak, with very few rules to remember when it comes to pronunciation. The GCSE course builds on your previous learning to develop your written and spoken skills and your ability to read and listen well in Spanish. Topics studied include your lifestyle, leisure, your home, the environment, work and your education.
Studying a language improves your employability since linguists have highly developed communication skills and often earn more too. Universities look favourably on those who have studied a language up to GCSE level and a language qualification opens up more career opportunities such as working for a multi-national company or even abroad in international business, law, management, marketing, publishing, journalism or within the travel and tourism or armed forces sectors.
